Tornado caused significant damage on the south side of Rolling Fork.
An early report indicates that the south side of Rolling Fork was struck by a huge and severe tornado, and that there is major damage to structures as a result of the storm.
Many other sources are reporting quite severe damage. In several areas of the region, radio transmission has been disrupted. By the use of emergency communication lines, first responders in Rolling Fork are begging for assistance from other agencies in the surrounding area.
Rolling Fork has already been prepared for the arrival of a team from Warren County that has been arranged and headed by Chief Mitch Lange and Chuck Tate.
The circumstances in Rolling Fork right now are rather precarious.
The Sharkey Sheriff's Department has received reports of gas leaks as well as persons being buried alive behind debris mounds. In Sharkey, there are certain police enforcement units that have not been located.
As midnight approaches, the tornado is still active on the ground and is moving in the direction of Belzoni.
Rolling Fork and Sharkey County are also receiving assistance from the units that Sheriff Pace has sent. He is warning folks to stay away from that location so that first responders can do their jobs safely.
