Meta Introduces Virtual Hangouts in Hyperscape Capture: Invite Friends Into Your Digital Spaces

Meta has expanded its immersive ecosystem by allowing users to invite friends directly into custom-created virtual spaces made with Hyperscape Capture. The new feature enables social hangouts inside detailed 3D replicas of real-world locations, providing a more interactive way to connect digitally.

With the latest update, up to eight people can join the same virtual instance, provided they are 18 or older and have access to the invitation link. These shared environments can be entered through Meta Quest 3 or Quest 3S headsets, as well as the Meta Horizon mobile app for both iOS and Android.

Bring Real Spaces Into the Metaverse

Hyperscape Capture allows users to scan real spaces using a Meta Quest device and generate accurate digital replicas. Whether you want to recreate your living room as a meet-up spot or explore celebrity environments like Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen or Chance the Rapper’s living room, the system provides a flexible and immersive way to socialize without needing to be physically present.

This new social integration builds on the technology introduced during the latest Meta Connect conference, where the company highlighted its advancements in spatial computing and digital reconstruction.

More Features Coming Soon

Meta says the invite option is rolling out gradually to all users, with future updates expected to expand the number of people who can join a virtual hangout at once. This aligns with Meta’s broader push toward more accessible and collaborative metaverse spaces.
